Thank you once again for an acute analysis and a thoroughly reasoned opinion. While not disagreeing, I would offer balancing considerations. The HW foundation has a narrow path to walk and they seem able to strike a great balance between experimenting on Tudor and staying conservative on Rolex. They may want to develop Tudor without damaging Rolex. Simultaneously, the heritage of HW's mindset is strongly respected. It results in a primadonna Rolex, loved/hated and going it's own path & a daring Tudor experimenting with nostalgia but also with excellent own designs like 1926, Pelagos, Clair de Rose and Royal... all that luxury at reasonable price. We are talking top quality luxury items here, so please correctly compare competitors: Omega, not Longines. That's loyal to HW's mission, waiting lists are just part of the difference in affordability. Allow me to digress: how many beautiful own collections does (great) Omega have? Do we agree that PP is the master of "ugly yet expensive" watches? How do the collections of AP or VC compare to the Rolex/Tudor conglomerate? I can't help but congratulate the foundation for the many great watches they deliver every year and hope they'll be able to keep the refined strategy that keeps the myth alive, which is everything else but trivial. A wise man once said "they lead, and we follow" - I don't love all their watches, but I surely love their attitude.

It seems like you are talking yourself into disliking something that you agree is beautiful. I think the music analogy is appropriate but you haven’t thought it all the way through. Consider classical and jazz music, all they do is “cover” other songs. Chamber music is almost nothing but that. And it is gorgeous. On top of that Tudor and Rolex have the same DNA. I don’t know man, I like what they are doing. Love your channel, cheers.

Dear Mr. Oisin, please don't panic like that! Your APs aren't any less of a watch than those Vacherons you see there. They are equally good if not better although I'm not a fan of waffle dialed watches. Now you believe me that had told you waffle dials aren't that big of a deal, clean flat dials are always more attractive. Now about those Vacherons! If you are fascinated by that green dial, it's the same color found in Longines Conquest automatic but you hardly ever see anyone talk about it or praising it! Unlike the other commenting fellows below I'm no fan of Overseas bezel and bracelet design although I appreciate the quick release system. The watch in general looks too overly engineered, too exaggerated design, too loud of a design language trying hard to draw your eyes "HEY LOOK AT ME, I'M A MILLIONER'S WATCH" and I don't know if anyone notice how ugly and unproportionately the date windows are in these watches let alone the white background(in this day and age)! Oh and that cockroach size counter balance on the seconds hand contrary of minutes hand and hours hand! I mean what the hell is that?! And why would you carve or draw a compass on a rotor made of paramagnetic 18kr gold in the back of a watch?! I mean silly stuff one after the other! You see what I'm talking about?!BTW the royal eagle that you used to have is head and shoulders above the overseas models if you're asking me. You always hear this expression that there is no such thing as perfect watch but I think people must consider measuring imperfections in watches too to see who can win😄

are you serious, who wants to pay the crazy prices asked for a Rolex when the Tudor are just as much of a watch , for my money I will take the Tudor

You can carry a small case that slips into the pocket to use as a barrier to grit or coins that may scratch your watch.

I've just had a look at the 312 watches on Tudor's website. There's not a single one I'd want to wear. They're really not for me. Every year I check out their releases and it's the same story. My wallet wishes I liked Tudor, though. It'd be great if I did. I like a good deal.

Acura and honda does that too. They test out new things on Honda before putting it on their luxury brand Acura. No one ever calls honda a poor man's Acura. Does anyone here have a Tudor and not a Rolex? Or just a tudor and not anything else? Watch people always compliment tudor where as if they see you wearing a Rolex, you're just a guy who loves to flex and don't know nothing about watches.

Hilarious cut scenes! I have the Tudor GMT S&G and, like you, it gets more compliments than any of my Rolexes. A lot of fair points made. Rolex is definitely using Tudor to look back on references and cash in on that and I think that’s great. The watch market is somewhat of a bottomless pit where no one is ever satiated. Tudor is still at an achievable price point with budgeting and saving. The retort that the brand is not a “poor man’s Rolex”, but a Man’s Rolex is a good reply.

To be honest, the fake one tested in the video doesn't represent the top-class replica rolex submariner in China. Maybe you should check the fake watch brand callled "clean"

I loved my Tudor Prince OysterDate from '93. I sadly sold it. I just bought a NOS one because I prefer it over the new ones.

Tudor doesn't carry any prestige and the designs are very ugly, especially the snowflake hour hand. The old Tudors with Rolex crowns and cases etc were way cooler.
